Grow Organic Fish And Vegetables

Aquaponics is a new type of farming which offers the unique opportunity to grow organic fish and vegetables in an arranged natural environment.

Types of fish to use:

  1. Check with the Agriculture and Fish and Wildlife departments in your residential state. These departments will let you know what fishes may be used.
  2. Personal use does not appear to require a permit or inspections.
  3. Learn about the types of fish you select in order to maintain healthy fish.
  4. Healthy fish also produce healthy produce.

Types of vegetables to use in the aquaponics system:

  • Any leafy type of vegetable
  • Herbs
  • Cucumbers
  • Strawberries
  • Tomatoes
  • Squash
  • Okra
  • Pepper
  • Melon
  • Different types of beans and peas

Choice seeds to use:

Purchase organic seeds, then all are 100% organic eliminating any chemical contamination.

How many fish?

A simple rule is 1 pound of fish per 3 gallons of water.

How many seeds?

The seeds, cuttings, or plants which you put into your aquarium will vary. I hate to be vague on this subject matter; however, it truly depends on how you intend to start your plant growth and the type of vegetables which are being selected.
