To my knowledge New Year celebrations occur worldwide. The dates may not always be on January 1, but a new year is celebrated. We all want the opportunity to explore new hopes and have faith in improvement. I would like to wish all of you a wonderful new year. May the next year meet your wishes and expectations? It is that time when many of us review the good, the bad, and the ugly of the passing year. It is a time to review our defeats and successes. The next question is: What do we want to do for the year 2012? What are our goals, desires, and other expectations of our self? Time is a valuable commodity how do we want to spend it? I enjoy learning and doing new hobbies. Some are for pleasure, some are for an income. Hobbies open opportunities for learning, meeting new people, opening doors of interests and excitement, traveling to new places, and time activity. Review our website. A hobby adds love, fun and happiness for a longer and more fulfilling life. Take a few minutes at this time to think about the benefits of a hobby. Love, friendships, fun activity, self accomplishment, compliments and praises, relaxing and so many more wonderful reasons for being alive and living with passion. Think back to when you were a child playing with your favorite toy or experiencing an imaginative trip to anywhere you wanted to go. During these times of play and escape your world was enjoyable and fun. Hobbies will keep your mind sharp, alert and active, less chance of getting Alzheimer’s disease. Why do you think so many senior citizens complete a crossword puzzle as a daily assignment or activity? Have you begun to notice that people keeping their mind and their body busy seem to outlive those who lack pursuing any interest? Researchers who have studied the brain find that our brain pleasure center lights up whenever we are complimented or praised. These pleasurable sensations happily fight off illnesses. A hobby adds the fuel which keeps the pleasure center active. Humans need love and praise. We accomplish so much through our hobbies which we share with our friends and relatives. Our hobbies bring happiness and pleasure for both self and others. It is this elated feeling of joy, kindliness or love which nurtures our being and gives us zest for passionate living. Allow yourself to drift thinking about what makes you happy. Write your thoughts on a sheet of paper immediately. Do not analyze. Now, review your happy list. Make a list of your interests and hobbies. One or two is all you will need to get started. Because a hobby adds enthusiasm for living, selecting too many can overwhelm and create stress on your time and skills. There are hobbies for indoor and outdoor activities. Hobbies can be sublime to extreme. Fun hobbies abound, action hobbies are available. You might consider the craft hobbies. There are local, state, national, and international hobbies. Give a gift of a hobby this year. Share your hobby or business interest. There are many stories which I have heard whereby a person got interested in a hobby because a friend or a family member purchased a kit, a lesson plan, or tools. Give a gift of paints, paint brushes, quilting supplies, cooking and baking kits, golfing supplies, jewelry kit, sporting supplies, tools, and so much more. I realize a sweater is a nice warm garment or a blouse or a shirt adds to the wardrobe. But a hobby opens a new world for the gift receiver to enter. Let the new year open with a change in interests or lifestyle. |

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all that celebrate this special occasion at this time of the year. Because of the over indulgence during the holiday season our pets may sometimes also eat too much or eat seasonal foods which are not agreeable to their systems. And it is not very pleasant when our pets take ill for these special holidays. I thought it important that as a warning to pet owners that I include a bit of information concerning diarrhea and vomiting. It is not uncommon for pet diarrhea and vomiting to occur occasionally. It is usually the results of eating something which was not agreeble to their digestive system. During special holidays or special events which we celebrate, pets as well as ourselves over indulge in treats or have exposure to food or drink which is not suitble or agreeable for our bodies and we get sick. Our body and the body of our pet reject these ill, foreign or undesirable substances with diarrhea or vomiting or both. For a short period of time this is okay. Should it last too long both human and pet need to seek medical care. I do review web pages to see where my original articles help other companies or individuals. This morning I came across this article so I thought I would include it in today's blog. It appears to be popular. Why not take golf instructions? And while you are at it why not take golf instructions from a professional golf instructor? See yourself mastering the game of golf. The other day I was listening to a program about acting, and I entered the middle of the interview where the emcee asked, what made you two actors exceptionally suitable for the roles which made it seem so natural and real to make the story line become so realistic to the audience? And do you improvise the script or memorize it? They not only answered the questions pertaining to their acting abilities, but to other accomplished and successful actors who share the same educational background of formal classical training in theatre and stage. They validated that education and training are valuable. And if you research an outstanding and excellent golfer the same will be discovered. They took lessons from professional golf instructors. The golf instructors can be found where you play golf. Do not hesitate to attend their classes. When playing on the golf course ask the golf instructor for an evaluation of your golf swing and other areas which need improvement. Be open to receive constructive criticism. There are pros and cons as to learning with video instructions. You will discover that there is much to be learned from the video. One tremendous advantage is being able to replay and listen to the instructor until you truly understand the lesson which is being taught. I had an experience in a teaching situation where a few blind people had attended the class. I discovered that the blind people were following my instructions directly and those who could see kept asking me to repeat what I was demonstrating. I learned a very valuable lesson that day. Visual people do not listen. Likewise, when viewing a video, regardless of the subject matter, listen. The instructor is telling you what to do, but your visual intake is distracting you from the words of instruction. Why take golf instruction? Here is a checklist: - Learn basics of golf correctly.
- Learn about the golf game.
- Learn about golf equipment.
- Become familiar with golf terminology.
- Learn how each type of golf club is to be utilized.
- Learn how to hit the golf ball a greater distance.
- Learn how to improve your golf swings, pitching, chipping, driving, takeaway, downswing, and others.
- Learn about fitness, stance, posture, and other biomechanics.
- Become familiar with golf drills and other practice methods.
- Learn how to shave strokes off your score.
- Learn timing, eye positioning, and focusing.
- Learn how to be still and quiet to maintain control.
- Learn how to correct your mistakes.
- Learn to be more consistent.
An instructor of golf will help you to learn this checklist in a matter of days. It would take you months trying to learn by trial and error.
