Each year we set up our model train with a community theme under the tree for Christmas. This was a family tradition which we established about 15 years ago and we continue to do it each and every year. It seems to add something extra special to the holiday. It is a hobby with much variety which will interest family members. For the craftsmen in your family miniature creations will win their devotion. The different types of model trains which are available will stir the heart of the person who likes to operate the trains. Start with one train and build from there. There are a variety of scale models to select from. The model train hobby is not restricted to men and boys. Many women and girls are very interested in this leisure pursuit. There is something for everyone to do. There are factory kits, assembly kits, or make it yourself. Something which we started a while back but are continuing to build is a train model platform. It started as a way of taking the worry of Christmas gifts from family members. With the passing years the train platform has gotten larger and larger and now we are preparing to setup a separate room for our train models.
